ELECTION COVERAGE
D.C. Bar Installs New Leaders
O
n June 4 the D.C. Bar concluded its general and Communities elections,
announcing Sadina Montani, a partner at Crowell & Moring LLP,
as president-elect for the 2024-2025 term beginning July 1. Montani
will serve in that post for one year before becoming president and will
continue in office a third year as immediate past president. With Montani's
installation, Shaun M. Snyder, CEO of the National Association of State
Treasurers, became the Bar's 53rd president.
" I am honored to have been elected by the D.C. Bar membership to serve
as president-elect. It has been a pleasure getting to know [president-elect
candidate] Hardeep Grover and the other talented candidates for Bar leadership
positions throughout the election process, " Montani said. " I am
confident the future of the Bar is bright, and I'm committed to making a
positive impact on our legal community. I am particularly eager to support
and lift up our voluntary bar associations and D.C. Bar Communities. "
Montani, an employment lawyer, has served the D.C. Bar in many capacities.
In prior years she has served on the Bar's Nominations, Leadership
Development, and Screening Committees, in addition to long-standing
service with the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center's Nonprofit & Small Business
Legal Assistance Programs. She was also president of the Women's Bar
Association of the District of Columbia from 2020 to 2021, a time that put
her leadership skills to the test with keeping members engaged professionally
and personally during the pandemic.
At Crowell & Moring, Montani counsels employers on compliance issues,
discrimination claims, and internal investigations. As part of the firm's innovation
technology committee, she has been involved in discussions about
the impact of artificial intelligence technology on the legal profession.
D.C. Bar members also elected Joshua L. Mogil, a federal government
attorney, to a one-year term as treasurer-elect. Mark A. Salzberg of Squire
Patton Boggs became treasurer upon Mogil's installation.
