February 7, 2024. The Office of Disciplinary
Counsel issued Coleman an informal admonition.
Coleman withdrew from a personal injury
case without taking reasonably practicable
steps to protect his client's interests and mitigate
the consequences to his client, violating
Rule 1.16(d).

On May 18, 2023, the Attorney Grievance
Commission of Maryland reprimanded AshShakoor
for violating rules relating to diligence,
communication, safekeeping property,
and supervision of nonattorney assistants.
In re Joseph A. Cerroni Jr. Bar No. 349134.
On May 23, 2023, the Circuit Court for Fairfax
County, Virginia, publicly reprimanded Cerroni
for an improper division of legal fees.
In re Kevette B. Elliott. Bar No. 431823. On
March 25, 2021, the Virginia State Bar reprimanded
Elliott for violating rules relating to
safekeeping property.

March 24, 2022, the Virginia State Bar reprimanded
Elliott for violating rules relating to
diligence, communication, and safekeeping
property.
In re Kerr S. Evans. Bar No. 462425. On August
16, 2023, the Circuit Court for Fairfax County,
Virginia, publicly reprimanded Evans for inadequate
trust account recordkeeping.
In re Kimberly K. Fahrenholz. Bar No. 501175.
On January 18, 2019, the Attorney Grievance
Commission of Maryland reprimanded Fahrenholz
for violating rules relating to diligence,
communication, declining or terminating
representation, and conduct prejudicial to
the administration of justice.
In re Peter L. Goldman. Bar No. 416622. On
November 6, 2023, the Virginia State Bar reprimanded
Goldman for violating rules relating
to safekeeping property and declining
or terminating representation.
In re Minji Kim. Bar No. 1618178. On June 2,
2023, the Virginia State Bar reprimanded Kim
for violating rules related to communication
with represented parties.
In re Weon Geun Kim. Bar No. 1045411. On
October 24, 2023, the Virginia State Bar reprimanded
Kim for violating rules relating to
safekeeping property.
In re Allen J. Lowe. Bar No. 945584. On August
18, 2023, the Attorney Grievance Commission
of Maryland reprimanded Lowe for violating
rules relating to diligence and safekeeping
property.
In re Robert Overbey Jr. Bar No. 482633. On
January 13, 2023, the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary
Board publicly reprimanded Overbey
for unauthorized practice of law.
In re Marylin R. Pierre. Bar No. 464822. On
August 16, 2023, the Supreme Court of Maryland
reprimanded Pierre for dishonesty and
making false statements with a reckless regard
as to their truth regarding the qualifications
or integrity of a candidate for judicial
office.
In re John P. Roberts. Bar No. 999627. On May
18, 2023, the Attorney Grievance Commission
of Maryland reprimanded Roberts for violating
rules relating to safekeeping property
and supervising nonattorney staff.
In re Paul R. Smollar. Bar No. 87247. On August
28, 2023, the Virginia State Bar admonished
Smollar for failing to make reasonably diligent
efforts to comply with a legally proper
discovery request.
In re Carl D. Somerlock. Bar No. 472226. On
October 30, 2023, the Supreme Court of
Maryland reprimanded Somerlock by consent
for misconduct relating to his misdemeanor
conviction for firearms-related offenses.
In
re Celestine Tatung. Bar No. 976830. On
August 15, 2023, the Supreme Court of
Maryland reprimanded Tatung for failing to
comply with rules relating to safekeeping
property, diligence, conduct prejudicial to
the administration of justice, and communication.
In
re Shalonda Michelle Tillman. Bar No.
1600534. On October 12, 2023, the Virginia
State Bar admonished Tillman for violating a
rule relating to safekeeping property.
In re Charles T. Tucker Jr. Bar No. 993515. On
August 24, 2022, the Attorney Grievance
Commission of Maryland reprimanded Tucker
for violating rules relating to scope of representation,
diligence, communication, fees,
conflict of interest, and declining or terminating
representation.
In re Gabriel Vadasz. Bar No. 1671488. On September
6, 2023, the presiding disciplinary
judge of the State Bar of Arizona reprimanded
Vadasz for failing to communicate terms
of the engagement in a client's retainer
agreement and failing to use a trust account
check when returning entrusted funds.
Disciplinary Actions Taken by the
Board on Professional Responsibility
Original Matters
In re Matthew A. LeFande. Bar No. 475995.
March 4, 2024. The Board on Professional Responsibility
found that LeFande committed
multiple violations of the D.C. and Maryland
Rules of Professional Conduct in two client
matters. In the first matter, LeFande represented
two clients who refused to return a
large sum of money they mistakenly received
during a real estate transaction. Over the
course of six years, LeFande made numerous
frivolous and improper filings in the matter
and was ultimately found guilty of criminal
