HELP EVALUATE
D.C. COURT JUDGES

MANDATORY COURSE
COMPLETION REMINDER

The D.C. Bar Judicial Evaluation Committee is inviting
feedback on the performance of selected judges who
preside over the D.C. Court of Appeals and D.C.
Superior Court. Attorneys who have appeared before
one or more of the judges during the period covered
by the 2019-2020 evaluation will receive an email or a
postcard in mid-November informing them of their
eligibility to take this important survey.

New members of the District of Columbia Bar have 12
months from the month of admission to complete
the required Mandatory Course on the D.C. Rules of
Professional Conduct and District of Columbia
Practice. Bar members who have been inactive,
retired, or voluntarily resigned for five years or more
also are required to complete the course if they are
seeking active member status. In addition, members
who have been suspended for five years or more for
nonpayment of license fees or late fees must take the
course to be reinstated.

The survey opens on November 12 and is conducted
online only. All responses are kept confidential. Bar
members' input helps the chief judges of the D.C.
Courts address concerns about a judge's conduct, highlights best practices and conduct that should be commended, and allows the judges themselves to receive
vital feedback. The survey closes on January 10.
