revealed a client secret when seeking to
withdraw from the representation in violation
of Rules 1.5(b) and 1.6(a). Osemene also gave
false testimony during the disciplinary hearing.
Reciprocal Matters
In re Michael S. Arif. Bar No. 391415. June 2,
2022. In a reciprocal matter from Virginia, the
D.C. Court of Appeals imposed equivalent
reciprocal discipline and disbarred Arif. In
Virginia, Arif consented to revocation based on
allegations that he failed to comply with terms
imposed in a prior disciplinary matter involving
conversion of entrusted funds.
In re Daniel Carlson. Bar No. 1000708. June 2,
2022. In a reciprocal matter from Michigan, the
D.C. Court of Appeals imposed identical reciprocal
discipline and disbarred Carlson, nunc pro
tunc to July 1, 2019. In Michigan, Carlson consented
to disbarment based upon a felony
conviction for sexual conduct involving an
incapacitated victim.
In re Steven R. Donziger. Bar No. 431577. July 21,
2022. In a reciprocal matter from New York, the
D.C. Court of Appeals imposed identical reciprocal
discipline and disbarred Donziger. In New
York, Donziger was found to have engaged in
obstruction of justice, witness tampering, and
judicial bribery.
In re William Elvin Hopkins Jr. Bar No. 1004177.
June 9, 2022. In a reciprocal matter from South
Carolina, the D.C. Court of Appeals imposed
functionally equivalent reciprocal discipline
and suspended Hopkins for three years with
fitness, nunc pro tunc to August 17, 2021. In
South Carolina, Hopkins admitted to deliberately
transferring client funds from his trust
account to cover operating expenses for his
law firm.
In re Scott M. Marinelli. Bar No. 480602. June 30,
2022. In a reciprocal matter from New Jersey,
the D.C. Court of Appeals imposed functionally
equivalent reciprocal discipline and suspended
Marinelli for two years with fitness. In New
Jersey, Marinelli was found to have failed to
cooperate with disciplinary authorities; committed
a criminal act reflecting adversely on his
honesty, trustworthiness, or fitness as a lawyer;
and engaged in conduct involving dishonesty,
fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation.
In re Judy R. Moats. Bar No. 429996. June 2,
2022. In a reciprocal matter from Virginia,
the D.C. Court of Appeals imposed identical
reciprocal discipline and disbarred Moats. In
Virginia, Moats consented to revocation based
on allegations that she failed to repay excessive
fees taken as co-executor of an estate and
failed to cooperate with a disciplinary investi -
gation.
In re Stuart J. Robinson. Bar No. 200758. June 2,
2022. In a reciprocal matter from Vermont, the
D.C. Court of Appeals imposed reciprocal discipline
and indefinitely suspended Robinson
from the practice of law in the District of
Columbia pursuant to D.C. Bar R. XI, § 13(e)
(disability).
Interim Suspensions Issued by the
D.C. Court of Appeals
In re John-Stuart W. Bailey. Bar No. 1012896. July
18, 2022. Bailey was suspended on an interim
basis based upon being placed on disability
inactive status by consent in Maryland.
In re Nathan W. Choi. Bar No. 985002. July 8,
2022. Choi was suspended on an interim basis
based upon discipline imposed in Washington
State.
In re Andrew Ryan Corcoran. Bar No. 988895.
July 29, 2022. Corcoran was suspended on an
interim basis based upon discipline imposed in
Maryland.
In re Dana Marie Fragakis. Bar No. 476039. July
29, 2022. Fragakis was suspended on an interim
basis based upon discipline imposed in Florida.
In re Lois R. Goodman. Bar No. 149245. June 29,
2022. Goodman was indefinitely suspended
based on disability pursuant to D.C. Bar R. XI, §§
13(c) and (e).
In re Earle A. Partington. Bar No. 87700. July 8,
2022. Partington was suspended on an interim
basis based upon discipline imposed in
California.
In re Jonathan S. Resnick. Bar No. 372786. July 8,
2022. Resnick was suspended on an interim
basis based upon discipline imposed in
Maryland.
In re Richard B. Thompson. Bar No. 427659. July
18, 2022. Thompson was suspended on an
interim basis based upon discipline imposed in
New Jersey.

Court of Appeals has ordered public notice of the
following nonsuspensory and nonprobationary
disciplinary sanctions imposed on D.C. attorneys

In re Nelson Gonzalez. Bar No. 465407. On
October 20, 2020, the Supreme Court of New
Jersey publicly reprimanded Gonzalez.
In re Todd Lewis. Bar No. 497852. On June 17,
2020, the Virginia State Bar publicly reprimanded
Lewis.
Disciplinary Actions Taken by the Board on
Professional Responsibility Hearing
Committees on Negotiated Discipline
In re Claudia PS Botty-Van Den Bruele. Bar No.
459210. June 27, 2022. The Board on Professional
Responsibility's Hearing Committee
Number Eleven recommended that the D.C.
Court of Appeals accept Botty-Van Den Bruele's
petition for negotiated discipline and suspend
her for 60 days, with 30 days stayed for violations
of Rules 1.5(b), 1.15(a), and 1.15(e).
In re Lynn M. Burke. Bar No. 1006423. July 6,
2022. The Board on Professional Responsibility's
Ad Hoc Hearing Committee recommended
that the D.C. Court of Appeals accept Burke's
petition for negotiated discipline and suspend
her for 180 days, with 90 days stayed with conditions
for rule violations in four disciplinary
matters. Count I: D.C. and North Carolina Rules
1.4(a) and (b), 1.5(b), 5.5(a), 7.1(a), 7.5(a), and 8.4(c);
Count II: D.C. Rule 1.5(b); Count III: D.C. and
North Carolina Rules 1.5(b), 1.15(a), 1.15(b),
1.15(d), and 1.16(d); and Count IV: D.C. Rule 5.5
and Maryland Rules 19-305.5(a) and (b).
In re Jehan A. Carter. Bar No. 1018067. July 6,
2022. The Board on Professional Responsibility's
