APPOINTMENTS

ON THE MOVE

Andrew Varcoe of Boyden Gray & Associates has
been named chair of the executive committee of the
Federalist Society's environmental law and property
rights practice group... Legal Counsel for the Elderly
has appointed Rhonda Cunningham Holmes as its
new executive director, the second in the organization's 43 years of operation. She has previously served
as deputy director of the Washington Lawyers'
Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs...
Rosa Evergreen of Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP
and Dan Moss of Jones Day have been named to the
American Bankruptcy Institute's "40 Under 40" list,
recognizing 40 of the top insolvency industry
professionals under the age of 40.

COMPANY CHANGES
Kaplan, Massamillo & Andrews, LLC and Zuckert,
Scoutt & Rasenberger, LLP have merged to form the
new firm KMA Zuckert... Murphy & McGonigle,
P.C. has launched a new practice area in commodities, futures, and derivatives... Bradley Arant Boult
Cummings LLP launched its 10th national office in
Dallas, Texas.

Paul Lee has joined Steptoe & Johnson LLP as pro
bono counsel... Wayne C. Beyer has returned to
New Hampshire after several years of service as chief
of staff at the U.S. General Services Administration,
member of the Federal Labor Relations Authority,
chair and chief judge of the U.S. Department of Labor
Administrative Review Board, and assistant attorney
general for the District of Columbia... Sidley Austin
LLP has added four new partners to its Washington,
D.C., office: Scott M. Border, IP litigation; Joshua J.
Fougere, litigation; and Deepti A. Kulkarni and
Arif S. Noorani, health care and FDA... Mark Epley,
formerly senior advisor and general counsel for
the office of the Speaker of the U.S. House of
Representatives, will join the Managed Funds
Association as executive vice president and general
counsel... Anne Braucher Kamosso has joined Aflac
Incorporated in Columbus, Georgia, as its first corporate counsel for complex litigation... Eversheds
Sutherland has elected 13 new counsel in its U.S.
offices, including Todd Betor, Graham Green, Ben
Marzouk, and Adam Pollet in the firm's Washington,
D.C., office... Erin C. Golding has been named
partner at the Burr Law Firm... Daniel Smith has
been promoted to partner at Adduci, Mastriani
& Schaumberg LLP. Lauren Peterson has been
promoted to counsel.

Wayne C. Beyer, a litigator and former administrative
appeals judge, has written Police Misconduct:
A Practitioner's Guide to Section 1983, a 1,540-page
treatise and handbook for lawyers, judges, and legal
staff on the litigation of police liability cases.

Taylor A. Hillman has joined Bass, Berry
& Sims PLC.

Angela Kung has rejoined Mintz, Levin,
Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. as of
counsel in the firm's communications section.
