Disciplinary Actions Taken by the
District of Columbia Court of Appeals
Reciprocal Matters
In re Ronald B. Bergman. Bar No. 356477. April
11, 2019. In a reciprocal matter from Maryland,
the D.C. Court of Appeals imposed reciprocal
discipline and disbarred Bergman. In Maryland,
Bergman acknowledged that sufficient
evidence could be produced to prove
repeated misappropriation of entrusted funds.
In re Ifeolu A. Fabayo. Bar No. 982634. April 25,
2019. In a reciprocal matter from Maryland, the
D.C. Court of Appeals imposed reciprocal discipline and disbarred Fabayo. In Maryland,
Fabayo admitted to intentionally misappropriating client funds.
In re John A. Giannetti Jr. Bar No. 480278. April
11, 2019. In a reciprocal matter from Maryland,
the D.C. Court of Appeals imposed functionally equivalent reciprocal discipline and indefinitely suspended Giannetti, with reinstatement
conditioned on a showing of fitness with the
right to seek reinstatement after five years or
after reinstatement by the state of Maryland.
In Maryland, Giannetti admitted to not
cooperating with six separate disciplinary
investigations.
In re Liana Martinez. Bar No. 420030. April 11,
2019. In a reciprocal matter from Florida, the
D.C. Court of Appeals imposed reciprocal discipline and suspended Martinez for 60 days,
followed by a three-year period of probation
subject to the conditions imposed by the state
of Florida. In Florida, Martinez admitted to
mishandling entrusted funds, improper
recordkeeping, and failure to supervise her
nonlawyer staff.
In re Edgar F. Ndjatou. Bar No. 1001665. April
25, 2019. In a reciprocal matter from Maryland,
the D.C. Court of Appeals imposed functionally equivalent reciprocal discipline and indefinitely suspended Ndjatou, nunc pro tunc to
March 18, 2019, with reinstatement conditioned on a showing of fitness. Ndjatou may
file for reinstatement after five years or after
reinstatement by the state of Maryland,
whichever occurs first. In Maryland, Ndjatou
admitted to failing to file an appeal in a client

matter, and then making intentional misrepresentations to the client regarding the nonexistent appeal.

In re David A. Walker. Bar No. 420695. April 11,
2019. In a reciprocal matter from New Jersey,
the D.C. Court of Appeals imposed reciprocal
discipline and suspended Walker for one year
with reinstatement contingent on a showing
of fitness. Walker's New Jersey discipline was
based upon a criminal guilty plea to conspiring to use runners to recruit automobile
accident victims as patients for treatment at
specific chiropractic facilities and for legal
representation by Walker's firm in exchange
for a referral fee for each client.
Interim Suspensions Issued by the
District of Columbia Court of Appeals
In re Christal E. Edwards. Bar No. 1016332. April
1, 2019. Edwards was suspended on an interim
basis based upon discipline imposed in
Maryland.
In re Ashley A. Krapacs. Bar No. 1045497. April
22, 2019. Krapacs was suspended on an interim
basis based upon discipline imposed in
Florida.
In re Melinda Maldonado. Bar No. 483919. April
9, 2019. Maldonado was suspended on an
interim basis based upon discipline imposed
in Maryland.
In re Justin A. Torres. Bar No. 1003136. April 9,
2019. Torres was suspended on an interim
basis based upon his conviction of a serious
crime in the Court of Common Pleas for
Cuyahoga County, Ohio.
