Court of Appeals
Original Matters
In re Bruce B. McLeod III. Bar No.
978256. October 25, 2018. The D.C.
Court of Appeals disbarred
McLeod by consent.
In re Leslie Arnold Thompson. Bar
No. 473388. October 18, 2018. The
D.C. Court of Appeals suspended
Thompson for 30 days with
fitness. Thompson delayed
responding to Disciplinary
Counsel's inquiry letter regarding
a disciplinary complaint, failed to
respond to a subpoena duces
tecum for his client file and his
financial records, and failed to
comply with a court order compelling him to respond to
Disciplinary Counsel's subpoena.
After the Hearing Committee
issued its report, the Court of
Appeals suspended Thompson in
a second matter in which he failed
to respond to Disciplinary
Counsel. Rule 8.4(d) and D.C. Bar
R. XI, § 2(b)(3).
In re Harry Tun. Bar No. 416262.
October 18, 2018. The D.C. Court
of Appeals suspended Tun for one
year for making false statements
in a motion to recuse a justice in
a criminal trial where Tun represented the defendant. One judge
dissented in part from the
decision not to require Tun to
demonstrate his fitness to practice
law ethically and competently as
a condition of his reinstatement.

Reciprocal Matters
In re Corey Brinson. Bar No. 981557.
October 25, 2018. In a reciprocal
matter from the Superior Court for
the Judicial District of Hartford,
the D.C. Court of Appeals imposed
reciprocal discipline and

suspended Brinson for six years
with the right to seek reinstatement after May 10, 2021, if
Brinson's supervised release has
concluded and he has complied
with all conditions imposed by the
state of Connecticut, including the
payment of the court-ordered
restitution in the amount of
$1,417,810. In addition, reinstatement is contingent on a showing
of fitness. In Connecticut, Brinson
admitted signing false and misleading letters designed to give
assurances to securities transfer
agents and prospective investors,
then distributing nearly all of the
victims' funds to his co-conspirators and himself.
In re Suzanne Nicole Hulthage.
Bar No. 993448. October 4, 2018.
In a reciprocal matter from
Maryland, the D.C. Court of
Appeals imposed functionally
equivalent reciprocal discipline
and indefinitely suspended
Hulthage with fitness, nunc pro
tunc to August 17, 2018. Hulthage
may file for reinstatement after
five years or after reinstatement
by the state of Maryland, whichever occurs first. In Maryland,
Hulthage was found to have filed
pleadings not supported by facts
or law, revealed client confidences, engaged in abusive communications with opposing
parties, filed unsubstantiated
complaints against a bankruptcy
trustee, and failed to protect her
client's interest at the conclusion
of the representation.
In re Dana A. Paul. Bar No. 490142.
October 4, 2018. In a reciprocal
matter from Maryland, the D.C.
Court of Appeals imposed reciprocal discipline and suspended
Paul for 30 days, nunc pro tunc to
August 2, 2018. In Maryland, Paul

was found to have damaged
another vehicle due to dangerous
driving and a traffic confrontation.

In re Michael B. Adelhock. Bar
No. 431566. October 15, 2018.
Adelhock was suspended on an
interim basis based upon discipline
imposed in New Jersey.
In re Warner H. Anthony Jr. Bar
No. 412731. October 29, 2018.
Anthony was suspended on an
interim basis pursuant to D.C. Bar
R. XI, § 9(g), pending final action
on the Board on Professional
Responsibility's July 17, 2018, recommendation of a one-year suspension with fitness.
In re John H. Branson. Bar No.
438765. October 29, 2018. Branson
was suspended on an interim
basis based upon discipline
imposed in Maine.
In re Raleigh Bynum III. Bar No.
503380. October 29, 2018. Bynum
was suspended on an interim
basis pursuant to D.C. Bar R. XI,
§ 9(g), pending final action on
the Board on Professional
Responsibility's April 4, 2018, recommendation of disbarment.
In re Michael D. Dobbs. Bar No.
414771. October 15, 2018. Dobbs
was suspended on an interim
basis based upon discipline
imposed in Maryland.

In re David B. Nolan. Bar No.
379804. October 18, 2018. Nolan
was suspended on an interim
basis pursuant to D.C. Bar R. XI,
§ 9(g), pending final action on
the Board on Professional
Responsibility's July 31, 2018,
recommendation of a threeyear suspension with reinstatement conditioned on proof of
fitness, restitution to the client,
and full compliance with all
outstanding Disciplinary Counsel
subpoenas and related court
and Board orders.
In re Joseph J. Pappacoda. Bar
No. 439225. October 1, 2018.
Pappacoda was suspended on
an interim basis based upon
discipline imposed in Florida.
In re Gene S. Rosen. Bar No.
108530. October 5, 2018. Rosen
was suspended on an interim
basis based upon discipline
imposed in Florida.
In re Karen H. Ross. Bar No.
499517. October 29, 2018. Ross
was suspended on an interim
basis based upon discipline
imposed in Nevada.
