Hand Award, recognizing his deep commitment and
dedication to justice, equality, and respect by
working to advance human rights... Karen E. Evans,

Metropolitan Washington, D.C.... Former D.C. Bar
president Shirley Ann Higuchi was recognized for

Foundation during the Constitutional Accountability
Center's 10th anniversary celebration... Joseph K.
West, a partner and chief diversity officer at Duane
Morris LLP, has been elected to the board of trustees
of Xavier University of Louisiana for a three-year

Legal Services Corporation's 2018 Arthur W. Machen

Justice Award from the Domestic Violence
Legal Empowerment and Advocacy Project,
recognizing his pro bono service on behalf of
two domestic abuse survivors in the District
of Columbia.
