NASH, THE POOCH, IS A NICE TOUCH
There are certain professions that seem to lend themselves to having more
than one family member involved in the "family business." I immediately
think of auto racing families. Doctors and teachers also come to mind. Surely,
the legal profession is another one.
So, I enjoyed reading "Law in the Family," which appeared in the July/August
issue, and seeing the dynamics involved when there are multiple lawyers
in a family. I can only imagine the shouting matches at Thanksgiving dinner
and all the unsolicited advice about topics completely unrelated to law.
I enjoyed reading about the son [Mark Cowen] who refused to go into the
profession because his parents were lawyers. He eventually went law school,
became a lawyer, and enjoys it. As the son of a lawyer who also needed
some coercing, I could relate.
Including Nash, the family dog, in the picture was a nice touch.
Thank you, Washington Lawyer, for an article that I really connected with.
