THE PRO BONO EFFECT
jurisdictions like Washington State, which allows licensed nonlawyers to help
individuals with legal issues (just as nurse practitioners have reduced the cost of
health care, licensed legal workers could reduce the cost of justice); and (5) we
may want to include more than just lawyers in our efforts to improve our legal
system so that we can find good solutions and have enough political force to
bring about change.
I think most of us want to help make our justice system more just. I'm excited
about continuing to work with the Pro Bono Center and others who are trying
to find ways to make justice more of a reality for more people.
