PRESIDENTS RECEPTION
EARNS RECORD SUPPORT
Each year past presidents of the D.C. Bar host the Presidents Reception
to honor the incoming Bar president and to support the D.C. Bar Pro
Bono Center. During this year's event, the Pro Bono Center raised more
than $1.1 million in donations from Bar members, firms, and supporters
of all kinds. The amount topped last year's record and will fund almost
one-third of the Center's total annual budget.

Rosenberg Award for Excellence in Government Service.

"We are so grateful to everyone who made this year's Presidents Reception
one for the record books. Thanks to the hard work and generosity of so
many people (including President Susie Hoffman's many friends and colleagues), we raised over $1,025,000," Pro Bono Center Executive Director
Rebecca Troth said. "With this support, the Pro Bono Center will serve even
more D.C. nonprofits and disadvantaged small businesses. We also will
provide counsel to more of our neighbors who otherwise would be forced
to appear in court with no lawyer at their side."
In addition to welcoming Hoffman, the reception also celebrated this
year's D.C. Bar Pro Bono Award winners:
Laura N. Rinaldi Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year - Matthew
N. Robinson
Pro Bono Law Firm of the Year - Kirkland & Ellis LLP and Sidley
Austin LLP
D.C. Bar and D.C. Attorney General's Award for Lifetime Pro Bono
Achievement - Blake A. Biles, Arnold & Porter LLP

The Presidents Reception that preceded the Celebration of Leadership
