On September 12 U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg
addressed Georgetown University Law Center's first-year class, speaking
about the Court's previous term. Her remarks were followed by a sit-down
conversation with Georgetown Law Dean William M. Treanor.

CONSTITUTION COMES ALIVE FOR D.C. STUDENTS
On October 1 students from Van Ness Elementary School, Seaton
Elementary School, and Paul Laurence Dunbar High School gathered at
the D.C. Bar for Constitution in the Classroom, an annual event held in
partnership with the American Constitution Society. Former D.C. Bar
President Patrick McGlone, who spoke about voting rights in the District,
spearheaded the educational program during his term.
D.C. COURTS BOOST CIVICS ED WITH HISTORYPLUNGE
On October 3 the D.C. Courts hosted approximately 60 D.C. elementary
school students at the Historic Courthouse to participate in its first-ever
HistoryPlunge tournament. Developed by the nonprofit LearningPlunge,
HistoryPlunge is a collection of card games that challenges students in a
variety of racing, strategy, and trivia games to test their knowledge of U.S.
history and civics.
