COLLABORATIVE SPACES
"We focused on the Bar's own culture with an eye toward the
future to inform the design," says Vandana Dake, the Alliance
architect who oversaw the design of the new building. The
design had three guiding principles: "democratizing daylight,
very high-end technology, and a variety of spaces."
The spaces are open and collaborative. "Clear glass walls, open interior staircases,
and flexible workspaces reflect the culture of collaboration, teamwork, and open
communication between staff and members," Dake says.

Clear glass office fronts for perimeter and interior offices maximize daylight
and city views for everyone. Daylight is a shared resource.

The design balances confidentiality and collaboration, through both acoustical
design and space planning.

Centrally located break areas have views overlooking 4th Street.
